Happy September! Back-to-school season always puts us in mind of freshly sharpened pencils, the smell of new books and the sound of the school bell ringing across the corridors.

Whether you’re celebrating back-to-school season or not, if you work in academia, this is probably the time of year you head back to the lab full-time. No more short days ending with a nice dip in the pool! And if you work in industry, well, vacation season is over and now it’s time to buckle down for conference season instead.

Here at Quantabio, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed the summer, and now we’re ready for fall. As we all get back to business, or back to the lab, we thought we’d offer a quick roundup to help you get your head in the game.

**Conferences on the horizon**

Fall is chock-full of great scientific meetings, and we’re already looking forward to several conferences to catch up on the latest research and connect with colleagues. **Time to fire up the Q**

It’s time to get started on new projects and new challenges. Our [Q cycler](https://www.quantabio.com/product/products-pcr-instrumentation-q/) is your faithful companion for all things qPCR. Run it in the lab, take it on the road, or toss it in your carry-on luggage and have an adventure. (Trust us — you wouldn’t be the first!)

**Brainstorm new research avenues**

Looking for some inspiration to help you plan that next study? We know it can be tough when your mind is still full of beaches and road trips. Check out our [markets and applications page](https://www.quantabio.com/markets-applications/) to see some of the most popular ways other researchers are using Quantabio tools, and maybe it’ll spark a new idea. **Pack your lunchbox — and don’t forget Qburt!**

If you’re familiar with Quantabio, you probably know about our chameleon mascot Qburt. We’ve been giving away plush Qburt toys and now we’re in the midst of a [fun social media challenge](https://www.quantabio.com/about-us/whereisqburt/) to make the world a better place. Just bring Qburt someplace interesting (Qburt particularly loves exploring labs, but is glad to perch just about anywhere), snap a photo, and post it to your favorite social media site with the hashtag #WhereIsQburt. As long as you tag us (@quantabio) so we see it, we’ll donate $10 to the Wildlife Conservation Society for every post submitted through December 31st.

One of the things we loved about going back to class as kids was starting with a clean slate and knowing that the new school year could bring just about anything. This September, we wish you the same sense of possibility in your world.
